Thanks to your library, and their partnership with Lean Library, you now have the ability to easily access study and research materials wherever and whenever you decide to study.

What is Lean Library?

Lean Library (Library Access) is a browser extension which will detect if the Library can give you access to a book or journal article you are trying to access, and pop up with a quick link to get you to the resource.

If you are searching for journal articles or books in a search engine and are faced with a paywall, Lean Library will check if you can access it through the Library and direct you to our login page to get access. If we do not have immediate access, Lean Library will offer you any Open Access versions it can find, or will help you to order the resource through our Resource Sharing Service (such as borrowing it from another university through inter-library loan).

Did you find a book on Amazon? With Lean Library installed, it will pop up and tell you if the Library has it and how to get it.

Did you find an article online that you want to read but cannot get into it? With Lean Library installed, it will pop up and tell you if the Library can give you access and get you to it.

Lean Library works with all major browsers including Chrome, Edge and Firefox.

On your own laptop or computer? Simple download and install Lean Library into your browser from this page and select York St John University from the list of libraries.
